Rs.750 are divided among A, B and C in such a manner that A : B = 5 : 2 and B : C = 7 : 13. What is A's share?

Answer : Rs.350

Explanation:

\(A : B = 5 : 2 = \frac{5}{2} : 1, \)

\(B : C = 7 : 13 = 1 : \frac{13}{7} \)
\(A : B : C = \frac{5}{2} : 1 : \frac{13}{7} = 35 : 14 : 26 \)
 \(\therefore \text{ A's part }= 750 \times \frac{35}{75} = \text{Rs } 350\)
