Answer is : \(33 \frac{1}{3}\%\)
Alcohol in the earlier mixture = 40% of 5 liters = 2 liters
Mixture after addition of 1 liter of water = 5 + 1 = 6 liters
Therefore strength of alcohol in the new mixture in percentage = \(\frac{2}{6}*100\)
\(=\frac{100}{3} %\)
\(=33\frac{1}{3}\%\)
