If South - East becomes East, North - West becomes West, South - West becomes South and so on, what will North become?

Answer is : North - West

South - East becomes East. It means the direction indicator has been rotated through 45° anticlockwise. Therefore. North will become North-West.

It is clear from the below diagrams that new name of West will become South-East.
