Then, second number = 3x

\(\Large x + 3x + \frac{3x}{2} = \left(44 \times 3\right)\)

\(\Large \frac{11x}{2} = 44 \times 3\)

\(\Large x = 24\)

the difference of the first number and the third number is

\(=\Large \frac{3x}{2} - x\)

\(= \frac{3 \times 24}{2}-24\)

\(=36 - 24\)

\(= 12\)
