Divide 13.680 in three parts such that 1st part is 3/5 th of the third part and the ratio between 2 nd and 3 rd part is 4 : 7. How much is the first part?
A3780
B6300
C3600
D4800

Correct answer is: 3780

Explanation:

Let the 3rd part be ‘x’.

\(⇒\text{ 1st part} = \frac{3x}{5}\)

\(⇒ \text{2nd part} = \frac{4x}{7}\)

\(13680 = \frac{3x}{5} + \frac{4x}{7} + x\)

\(⇒ 13680 = \frac{76x}{35}\)

⇒ x = 6300

\(\text{1st part} = 3 \times \frac{6300}{5} = 3780\)

∴ The first part = 3780
