If x is a prime number, LCM of x and its successive number would be ......

If x is a prime number, LCM of x and its successive number would be ......
Ax
BX + 1
Cx (x + 1)
Dx/(x+1)

Correct anwer is: x (x + 1)

Explanation:

We know that,

2, 3, 5, 7……. are prime numbers.

Let us solve this question by substituting the above prime numbers.

If x = 2 then (x + 1) = 3

⇒ LCM of 2 and 3 = 2× 3 = x × (x + 1) = 6

If x = 3 then (x + 1) = 4

⇒ LCM of 3 and 4 = 3 × 4 = x × (x + 1) = 12

∴ If x is a prime number, LCM of x and its successive number = x(x + 1)
