What amount a man would have received on a principal of Rs. 4,000 after two years at simple interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum ?
ARS 4,161
B RS 5,200
CRS 4,400
D RS 4,100

Correct answer is: RS 4,400

Explanation:

S.I. = \(\Large \frac{Principal \times Time \times Rate}{100}\)

= Rs. \(\Large \left(\frac{4000 \times 2 \times 5}{100}\right)\)

Therefore, Amount received = S.I. + Principal

= Rs.  \(\Large \left(4000 + 400\right)\)

= Rs.4400
