5 men or 9 women can do a piece of work 19 days. In how many days will 3 men and 6 women working together will finish the work?

Correct answer is: 15 days

Explanation:

5 men = 19 days

3 men =\( \frac{5}{3} \times 19\) = 31.67 days

9 women = 19 days

6 women = \(\frac{9}{6} \times 19\) = 28.5 days

3 men + 6 women in 1 day = \(\frac{1}{31.67} + \frac{1}{28.5}\)

= 0.0315756 + 0.0350877 = 0.0666633

=\(\frac{ 667}{10,000}\)

So they will complete the work in  \(\frac{10,000}{667}\) = 14.99 days

ANSWER 15 days
