When 1 is added to each of the given two numbers, their ratio becomes 3 : 4 and when 5 is subtracted from each, the ratio becomes 7 : 10. The numbers are:
A8, 11
B11, 15
C26, 35
D27, 36

Correct answer is: 26, 35

Explanation:

Let the number be x and y

In first case

\(x+\frac{1}{y}+1=\frac{3}{4}.\)

4x-3y=-1 eq 1

In second case

\(x-\frac{5}{y}-5= \frac{7}{10}\)

10x-7y=15 eq 2

Solving eq 1 and 2

We get x=26 and y=35
