A and B can complete a job in 18 days; B and C can complete the same task in 24 days; A and C can complete the same task in 36 days. How long will it take to complete the task, if all three work together?

Correct answer is: 16

Solution

Given: A and B's one day's work =118.....(i)

B and C's one day's work =124.....(ii)

C and A's one days work =136......(iii)
Adding above three equations, we get
2(A+B+C)'s one day's work =118+124+136

=4+3+272 {LCM 18,24 and 36=72}
=972
∴2(A+B+C)'s one day's work =18

Hence, A,B and C's one day work =18×2=116

∴ A,Band C can do the work in 16 days.
