In a camp 180 students had ration for 20 days. How many students should leave the camp if the ration should last for 25 days?
A36
B24
C28
D40

Correct answer is:36

Explanation:

Total Ration = x

Consumption of Each student for 20 days \(= \frac{x}{180}\)

Consumption of Each student for Per day \(=  \frac{x}{180 \times 20}\)

\(\therefore\)  Consumption of Each student for Per day \(= \frac{x}{3600}\)

Now we want ration to continue for 25 days.

Total of number of students be y for 25 days consumption.

\(\frac{x}{3600} \times y \times 25 = x\)

\(y = \frac{3600}{25} = 144\)

So total number of students to leave = 180 - 144 = 36
