Amit's present age is three times pratibha's present age and nine thirteenth of his father's present age. The sum of the present age of all of them is 150 years. What is the difference between pratibha's present age and Amit's father's present age ?
A56 years
B64 years
C60 years
DCannot be determined

Answer is  60 years

Explanation:

Pratibha’s present age = x years

Amit’s present age = 3x years

Father’s present age

\(= \frac{3x \times 13}{9} = \frac{13x}{3} years\)

\(\therefore x + 3x + \frac{13x}{3}= 150\)

=> 3x + 9x + 13x = 150 × 3

=> 25x = 150 × 3

=> \(= \frac{150\times3}{25}= 18\)

\(\text{Required difference }\)

\(=\frac{ 13x}{3}- x = \frac{10x}{3}\)

\(= \frac{10}{3}× 18 = 60 \text { years}\)
