$=>\frac{40}{100} of (x-y) = \frac{30}{100} of (x+y)$

$=> \frac{40}{100}\times (x-y) = \frac{30}{100}\times(x+y)$

$=> 4x - 4y = 3x+3y$

=> x = 7y

$\therefore \text{required percentage} =\Big(\frac{y}{x}\times100\Big)\%$

=> $\Big(\frac{y}{7y}\Big) \times 100 \%$

$=> \Big( \frac{100}{7} \Big) \%$

= 14.3%
